Featured on this website are artworks from the estate of Richard Hofmann (1954–1994), New York 1980’s East Village painter, performance artist and AIDS activist. I am now releasing hundreds of original works — preserved over the past forty years — in a range of media including oils, watercolors, woodcuts, etchings, as well as vintage wall-length club posters from the legendary Danceteria and Roxy.

Hofmann’s work has been most recently featured in the exhibition catalogue for About Face: Stonewall, Revolt and New Queer Art by Jonathan David Katz (pp. 216–219), which examines the emergence of queer artistic expression in the post-Stonewall era.

A limited number of affordable, high-quality reproductions of a dozen popular paintings from the 2022 solo exhibition Love and Kisses from the East Village 1986 are also available for purchase while supplies last.
